Position Overview

We are seeking a qualified individual to join our team as a Technical Sales Specialist. The ideal candidate will be based in Colombia or Chile.

  • You are eager to take on the primary responsibility of enhancing sales growth initiatives throughout the region, concentrating on IP audio solutions for video intercoms, security communications, paging systems, background music, and more.
  • You enjoy collaborating closely with Axis Regional Sales Managers (RSMs) to assist with various pre- and post-sales opportunities, including critical projects.
  • You excel in communication and teamwork with both internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all aspects of pre- and post-sales support for opportunities necessitating Field Sales Engineer involvement in the territory, specifically related to IP Audio solutions.
  • Develop high-level system designs that may involve: detailed site assessments, placement of speakers/intercom stations/microphones, coverage area calculations, decibel analysis, bandwidth and storage assessments, bill of materials construction, schematic drawings (Visio/CAD), and recommendations for third-party products and integration.
  • Collaborate effectively across various departments (internally & externally) to ensure that expectations and performance objectives are achieved in a timely and professional manner.
  • Design and deliver technology and/or customer-specific training related to IP Audio.
  • Represent Axis at industry trade shows and events as required.
  • Provide backup support to other Axis sales engineers as necessary.
  • Travel regionally and internationally as needed, with up to 35% travel required.
  • Primarily work from an AXIS Experience Center when not traveling.
  • Maintain and enhance the AXIS Experience Center for IP audio.
  • Effectively manage multiple projects, tasks, and travel arrangements.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • In-depth knowledge of intercom systems, network audio, VoIP, and SIP technologies.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the physical security and IT markets, including complementary products, technologies, future trends, and the overall market landscape.
  • Strong networking knowledge (TCP/IP, Routers, Switches, VPNs, etc.).
  • Familiarity with video transport protocols and compression technologies.
  • Proficient technical writing and presentation skills (white papers, manuals, instructions, etc.).
  • Experience in design documentation (schematics, flow charts, topologies, metrics, fields of view, pixels on target, angles, etc.).
  • Excellent professional communication skills (listening, written, verbal).
  • Strong presentation and training capabilities.
  • Proven ability to manage time effectively and multitask.
  • Ability to simplify complex technologies and specifications.
  • Positive, customer-focused attitude.

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Network Engineering, or Information Systems is mandatory.
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in a customer-facing pre-sales role, preferably in the network video and/or physical security sectors.
  • Axis Certified Professional designation is preferred.

  • Ability to climb and stand on ladders or lifts for extended periods.
  • Capability to work at heights, including ceilings, ladders, rooftops, etc.
  • Travel may be required up to 50%.
