Vestas is seeking an experienced Wind Energy Sales Strategist to join our team.



The Services Department at Vestas plays a crucial role in ensuring the optimal performance of wind farms worldwide.



We are looking for a skilled professional with extensive experience in technical sales, commercial customer communications, and contract negotiation. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of financial and technical language, as well as excellent communication skills in Spanish and English (Portuguese is a plus).



Job Description:

The Wind Energy Sales Strategist will be responsible for directing front-end assessments of business opportunities, leveraging Vestas's global network to provide sales & service solutions. This includes building strategies to ensure Vestas meets FOI, Revenue, and CM targets for all segment revenue streams.




  • Direct front-end assessment of business opportunities using Vestas's global network
  • Build strategies to meet FOI, Revenue, and CM targets for all segment revenue streams
  • Structure deals with full breadth of Vestas in mind to understand organizational linkages and impacts
  • Accountable for product line leadership and collaborate cross-functionally with colleagues to promote successful transactions
  • Develop sales strategy and negotiate sound business deals with customers according to company standards
  • Solid leadership in account management activities, including issue resolution at different corporate levels
  • Create and deliver powerful speeches to demonstrate uniqueness proposition
  • Coordinate all aspects of RFP/RFI responses, developing the team through market opportunities
  • Direct contract negotiations through phases from offer proposition to signature
  • Collect and convey internal intelligence


Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you will need:




  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Engineering, or Economics (MBA degree preferred)
  • Years of experience in technical sales, commercial customer communications, contract negotiation, or legal knowledge, with expertise in at least one of these disciplines
  • Experience selling power generation equipment to utilities in the wind industry or complex capital equipment sales
  • Demonstrated achievement in negotiation and closing of complex long-cycle larger capex agreements where long-term partnering is crucial
  • Demonstrated achievement in understanding commercial terms and negotiation strategy, balancing business profitability and customer needs
  • Understanding of supervising customer accounts and support team selling
  • Solid leadership skills, demonstrated ability in coaching, mentoring, motivating, and developing employees to achieve a highly aligned, motivated, and engaged team
  • Demonstrated continuous improvement and quality methodology skills
  • Effective issue resolution and structured problem-solving methodology
  • Effective communication skills in Spanish and English (Portuguese is a plus)
