Salary Information

The estimated annual salary for this position is $147,500, which reflects the competitive compensation package offered by Teck Resources Limited. This includes a base salary, performance bonus, profit share plan, and comprehensive benefits package that promote physical, mental, financial, and emotional well-being.

Job Description

This exciting opportunity exists within our organization for a Strategic Technology Partner for Mining Operations. Reporting to the Director, Strategy, Planning and Performance, you will play a key role in ensuring Teck's mines leverage technology to meet or exceed their business goals. Your expertise will drive strategic decision-making, improve operational efficiency, and enhance collaboration between technology and operational sites across Latin America.

You will be responsible for managing relationships with senior business leaders, analyzing performance metrics, and identifying opportunities for improvement. Your ability to communicate effectively across business and technology domains will be crucial in developing a technology strategy that supports excellence and evolving business needs.

  • Main Responsibilities:
  • Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures.
  • Provide visible leadership to areas aligned to Teck's core values such as Equity, Diversity and Inclusion.
  • Engage with business partners and analyze performance metrics to understand, identify, and prioritize company needs.
  • Work with the business and technology teams to capture, translate, and enrich business requirements through design thinking and/or problem-solving sessions for new and existing services.
  • Build and evaluate cases that support prioritization of investment decisions, such as improvements, new projects, and programs.
  • Collaborate with and provide feedback to technology teams to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Work with senior business leaders to curate the technology strategy and create an operations-specific technology and capability roadmap that balances factors such as cost, time, risk, and strategic alignment.
  • Support key planning and investment processes, such as 5-year planning, capital allocation, and annual business planning.
  • Ensure the maintenance of a close working relationship with Teck teams critical to success, such as enterprise architecture, technology portfolio management, and mining operations teams.
  • Develop and maintain lasting relationships with senior leaders as measured by customer satisfaction of technology services.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will require a strong background in strategic technology partnerships, preferably within the mining industry. A minimum of 7 years' experience is required, ideally across multiple commodities in Base Metals strategic investments. You should possess a solid understanding of operational technology, IT efficiency tools, networking, ERP applications, and enterprise architecture. Experience with improvement methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, and frameworks such as ITSM would be considered an asset.

A bachelor's degree or MBA preferred, or equivalent experience in mine engineering, process engineering, customer success, sales, business development, or account management. Strong communication skills, written and oral, with the ability to translate across business and technology domains are essential.
