Job Description: As a Senior Financial Operations Specialist, you will play a critical role in leading our Special Accounts team. Your primary responsibility will be to provide direction and leadership to senior management to collect complex accounts, track and resolve issues in a timely manner, and manage relationships with the legal and remarketing team.
Key Responsibilities: Some of your key responsibilities will include:
- Working with customers to propose and negotiate payment agreements and reconciling any differences or conflicts;
- Providing direction and leadership to the repossession, recovery, or legal effort;
- Developing and recommending improvements to existing processes, policies, procedures, standards, and measures;
- Monitoring and reporting Special Accounts performance measures, including periodic status reports, summaries, statistics, results, and historical reporting to management on recovery or legal activities;
- Developing a strong working relationship with Caterpillar Dealers, Territory Managers, and customers in an assigned portfolio; and
- Making recommendations for PCL purposes.
Requirements: To be successful in this role, you will need to possess:
- Bachelor's degree;
- Knowledge of mathematical concepts and ability to apply mathematics appropriately to business transactions;
- Effective communication skills, including understanding of effective communication concepts, tools, and techniques, as well as the ability to transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors;
- Initiative, including being proactive and committing to action on self-identified job responsibilities and challenges, seeking out work, and driving to accomplish goals;
- Relationship management skills, including knowledge of relationship management techniques and the ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with clients, vendors, and peers;
- Collection management skills, including knowledge of collection management and the ability to develop collection strategies in all areas of collection and credit/financial reporting for an organization;
- Accounts Receivable (A-R) skills, including knowledge of an organization's billing requirements and the ability to utilize the proper tools and follow accounts receivable practices and procedures;
- Legal analysis skills, including knowledge of methods and tools used in legal analysis and the ability to read, interpret, and draw accurate conclusions from both legal and factual information.
