What Your Background Should Look Like:

The Solar Energy Development Manager is responsible for developing and executing new projects and accounts with EPCs, Stakeholders, Developers, etc., in the Renewable market, with special focus on Solar projects and Battery Storage Systems (BESS). The manager is accountable for developing the account/s with the relevant customer for TE Energy to become a strategic partner and to increase Renewable market share and revenue, account penetration and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop strong relationships with key stakeholders (executive level relationships and key decision makers) in the customer, applying professional selling methodology and leveraging these relationships to position TE Energy as a preferred supplier.
  • Turning initial PV system conceptual ideas into fully developed optimized EPC/Owner designs.
  • Preparing or reviewing designs for the solar plant (or other renewable projects) to create fully customized connectivity solutions for large-scale solar installations to maximize TE Energy products content. Independently assessing strategic sales, marketing, partnership, and channel partner strategies for growth.
  • Researching and developing new technology for new product development and staying current on technological developments in the field. Generating new ideas, going beyond the status quo; recognizing the need for new or modified approaches.
  • Actively monitoring & maintaining KPIs of customer relative to supplier performance standards. Proactively promoting the value which TE brings to the customer (with data / results) and working to efficiently service the account.
  • Financial tracking and reporting of strategy and business development efforts, regional performance, and business planning results.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Civil Engineering.
  • 5+ years of experience in solar and renewable energy.
  • 10+ years of experience in commercial roles.
  • Preference will be given to candidates that possess technical backgrounds and have experience with solar and energy storage.
  • A very good understanding of products and technologies for applications in commercial or large-scale solar applications. In-depth knowledge of solar and BESS equipment and techniques.
  • Experience managing project teams, both directly and through matrix organizations.
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability with an entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Strong customer service skills with focus on listening to the customer.
  • Working knowledge of engineering design, procurement, and construction practices and procedures. Multi-project execution.

Estimated Salary: $120,000 - $180,000 per year
