Overview

We are seeking a full-time Sales Manager in our Santiago, Chile location. In this role, you will be responsible for the overall channels; Dealers, Retailers, Distributors, Garmin Store, ecommerce and B2B to serve our local business categories of Fitness and Outdoor as well as supervising associates and team leaders.

Essential Functions

  1. Enhance customer satisfaction, meet sales and profitability goals and manage staff effectively.
  2. Develop business strategies to raise our partners and customers pool, expand revenue and optimize profitability.
  3. Maintain and grow existing accounts with an organized approach handling all details of account follow-up to generate more business.
  4. Lead the team with innovative ideas, calendar planning and execution of sales efforts.
  5. Meet sales goals by training, motivating, mentoring, and providing feedback to the team.
  6. Prepare and maintain monthly sales forecasts for all fitness and outdoors products.
  7. Monitor market for need to modify pricing to meet sales objectives/profit goals as well as to determine best product range and maintain excellent product/pricing knowledge.
  8. Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent service and relationships.
  9. Report on retail/buying trends, customer needs, profits, etc. and propose innovative ideas to increase market share.
  10. Directly supervise various levels of team members/team leaders by setting the tone for the team environment and providing individualized coaching, training and mentoring along with daily observation, assuring appropriate attendance and aiding team members.
  11. Participate in recruiting activities, interview, hire, train, and evaluate performance for the team to assess training needs/build career paths and work with HR on associate relations including writing/conducting annual performance evaluations.
  12. Deal with all issues that arise from staff or customers (complaints, grievances etc.).
  13. Complete and ensure compliance with policies/procedures, complete timely and succinct trip/status reports, and manage initiatives with excellent project management skills.
  14. Available to work and visit retail stores at retail hours when needed.

Basic Qualifications

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Commercial Engineering, Industrial Civil Engineering, or Business Administration AND a minimum of 2 years leadership and/or management experience working as retail manager, sales manager or related experience.
  2. Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills in Spanish and English.
  3. Must demonstrate proficiency using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and POS systems.
  4. Must be self-motivated and possess the ability to provide demonstrated results by meeting and/or exceeding sales goals in positions similar to this role and be results driven.
  5. Must possess experience in technology, sports or outdoors marketplace.
  6. Must provide demonstrated evidence of proven track record of sales successes.
  7. Must be positive, detail oriented, organized, team oriented and a driven problem solver, multi-tasker, and self-starter with the ability to prioritize and lead in a fast paced, deadline-driven environment with excellent time management skills.
  8. Able to generate/support pragmatic solutions that meet Garmin’s sales goals, while maintaining high customer service standards, and able to work proactively/effectively with minimal supervision.
  9. Public speaking experience or experience in making high level sales presentations.

Desired Qualifications

  1. Background in retail management, financial planning, and employee recruitment.
  2. Knowledge or have worked with ERP like Oracle, and BI tools like QlikView.
  3. Personal experience in using recreational, consumer electronics, cellular/wireless distribution, fitness, or marine products.
  4. Master Degree or candidate for Master.
  5. Excellent product knowledge of communication and navigation systems.
  6. Practice a sport on a regular basis.
