**Overview of Position**

The Manager of Financial Reporting for the Global Lifestyle Segment will lead the coordination, development and delivery of insightful financial statement analysis and will help manage the financial reporting close process. This role supports external and internal management reporting for the Lifestyle Segment while maintaining strong internal controls.

**What will be my responsibilities for this position?**
- Lead collaboration among Lifestyle Controllers and their teams (Connected Living, Automotive, & International) to execute Global Lifestyle deliverables.
- Review and deliver concise variance analysis (e.g., actual results vs. prior periods QTD and YTD) for Financial Statement Caption Lines at the segment, global line of business and business unit levels (under both US GAAP and US Statutory accounting).
- Coordinate and consolidate the analysis at the segment level.
- Continuous enhancement of analytics processes to improve accuracy and timeliness.
- Identify and explain business trends and variance drivers, key performance indicators, as well as risks and opportunities.
- Review and consolidate all Global Lifestyle quarterly Financial Reporting deliverables for Assurant’s consolidated financial statements (i.e., footnotes, roll-forwards, disclosures, etc.)
- Responsibilities include working closely with other finance and accounting teams to enhance processes and reporting, recommend and implement procedures to resolve data quality issues and ensure consistency across business units and reporting systems.
- Provide guidance, support and ongoing training for team analysts, including review of all deliverables.

**What are the requirements needed for this position?**
- Bachelor’s degree required - Finance or Accounting
- Minimum 5 years of experience in finance/accounting; must include financial statement analysis experience
- Experience in a managerial role managing people in a hybrid (i.e., remote) environment
- Ability to manage numerous deadlines and prioritize workload accordingly
- Ability to build financial reports, quickly manipulate data and conduct financial analysis under tight timelines
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with internal teams, at multiple levels, settings, and time zones
- Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems
- Strong problem-solving skillset
- Strong Microsoft Office skills
- Superior communication skills, both verbal and written

**What other skills/experience would be helpful to have?**
- CPA
- Master’s in Finance/Accounting or MBA
- Strong US GAAP and US Statutory knowledge
- Understanding of business concepts related to insurance, mobile, or auto industry
- Proficient understanding of foreign exchange
