Commercial Costing Manager

Job Summary
">- We are seeking a highly skilled Commercial Costing Manager to join our team in Santiago, Chile.
This is a part-time telework position that requires at least three days of in-person attendance per week at the assigned office or project.
Main Responsibilities
- Understand the bidding calendar milestones and plans in a timely manner for different proposal stages.
- Analyze commercial terms requested in Requests for Proposal (RFPs) and summarize main elements, such as payment terms, currencies, bonds, insurance requirements, and commercial forms required.
- Prepare questions regarding RFPs for sending to customers for clarifications.
- Coordinate with other functions to gather inputs needed for pricing on time and in the required format.
- Perform sensitivity cost analysis scenarios when appropriate and benchmark costs and quantities using historical data.
- Develop Gross Margin determinations and Project Profitability Summaries in accordance with management approval, prescribed procedures, and policies.
- Prepare and issue commercial forms required in RFPs and commercial proposal write-ups.
- Support Capital Cost Estimate (CAPEX) development of studies in execution.
- Coordinate with Treasury for issuance of letters of credit (bid bond, advance payment, performance bond).
- Prepare New Work Booked forms for jobs awarded.
- Provide status of pending prospects with updated information periodically.
- Plan and coordinate day-to-day business service operations of small projects or in support of larger programs.
- Work with management to formulate policies and strategies to provide overall direction.
- Establish administrative controls and reporting criteria for service functions in accordance with established Bechtel policies and procedures, client requirements, and applicable governmental regulations.
- Monitor performance of organization against requirements, tax implications, and any special provisions affecting operations.
- Work with client and government auditors to provide financial and other data to operating personnel and project offices.
- Prepare billing instructions for new jobs and conduct special studies of job costs, overhead costs, and profits as appropriate.
- Ensure projects conform to Bechtel's procedures, principles, and policies for functional areas of responsibility.
- Develop accounting and other business controls and procedures particular to the project or office.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience.
- Engineering and/or construction experience in the mining and metals market segments.
- Expert-level proficiency in Excel.
- Proficiency in Power BI.
- Experience in cost analysis and cost estimate; capable of resolving a wide range of issues in creative ways.
- Demonstrates good judgment in selecting pricing parameters and methods to achieve effective solutions.
Salary
The estimated salary for this position is around $80,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. This figure is based on national averages and may vary depending on location and other factors.
