Senior Investment Manager for Manufacturing, Agribusiness, and Services

The International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group, is seeking a seasoned professional to lead business development efforts in Chile and IFC's forestry sector across Latin America and the Caribbean. As a Principal Investment Officer, you will be responsible for identifying, structuring, and executing investments in manufacturing, agribusiness, and services sectors.
Key Responsibilities
* Establish and lead business development efforts for the MAS sectors in Chile
* Develop and implement strategies to increase investments and engagements with new clients through comprehensive value-added propositions
* Act as a central figure in aligning and executing the strategic vision for the MAS sectors within the designated country in close coordination with the Southern Cone Hub Lead
* Proactively identify potential investment partners and opportunities based on industry experience, reputation, market potential, financial capability, and strategic fit
* Engage in local MAS sector events to represent IFC as part of the business development activities
* Build and maintain strong relationships with target companies in the MAS and specially in the forestry sector as well as with banks and multilateral partners operating in the region
* Negotiate, suggest required modifications, and ensure the signing of new mandate letters for bankable and impactful transactions
Requirements
* MBA or Master's degree in a related field and at least 12–14 years of relevant experience in finance with a proven track record of sourcing, structuring, and closing investments, preferably across MAS sectors
* Extensive experience in financing and supervision work in forestry
* Strong financial and credit skills; demonstrated ability to structure a variety of financial instruments and process complex transactions
* Business development and client relationship skills, track record, and ability to effectively focus on client's needs
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
* Fluency in Spanish required
* Ability to mentor more junior staff
* Genuine commitment to sustainable development and highest ethical standards
* Willingness to travel extensively
