Overview

Rain Bird is seeking an experienced Irrigation Sales Specialist to drive sales growth and establish the company as a leader in the LATAM irrigation market. The successful candidate will operate as a sales consultant/brand ambassador, influencing and aiding decision-makers in the irrigation industry.

This includes, but is not limited to, Irrigation Consultants, Landscape Architects, Public Agency Accounts, Distributors, Contractors, and Corporate Account customers within the sales region in South America, Central America, or the Caribbean (LATAM).

The ideal candidate will support Distributors and identify key Contractors or stakeholders in LATAM to ensure preference for Rain Bird products and subsequent sales.

Responsibilities
  • Establish Rain Bird as the primary irrigation product specified.
  • Develop and implement call strategies that deliver increased specification and sales within the assigned territory through our business model in LATAM.
  • Conduct product demonstrations, webinars, fairs, seminars, and become a product technical expert for the regional team.
  • Develop strong relationships with targeted Irrigation Consultants, Landscape Architects, Landscape Schools, and Corporate Accounts at the decision-maker level.
  • Analyze sales results, track projects updated on a regular basis, demonstrate, and conduct product training.
  • Participate in all relevant events for the purpose of networking and generating opportunities to sell Rain Bird products.
  • Grow Rain Bird sales faster than the market growth rate, establishing & leading sales & marketing plans, developing and managing channels of distribution, and conducting customer training.
  • Develop a strong agenda of traveling to achieve sales and market share objectives.
  • Must be self-motivated, creative, and have strong communication and selling skills.
  • Persuasive and able to easily build rapport.
  • Technical aptitude to learn about irrigation products and applications.
  • Generate services sales opportunities and assist with management.
  • Hands-on approach to management, highly motivated individual, self-starter who thrives on challenges.
  • Commercial acumen and strategic aptitude key to success in this role, excellent organization and planning skills, and keen ability to effectively manage competing priorities.
  • B2C and B2B commercial experience and distribution channel knowledge major advantage.
  • Experience in launching products and services.
  • Proven experience in presenting at public events, webinars, or seminars.
  • Collaborate with SBU's Marketing staff to improve specification results with current products by defining and executing programs to deliver these results.
  • Obtain market information regarding competitors' technologies and solutions, potential projects, and other sales-related issues.
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or Engineer or other technical degree
  • 5+ years progressive work experience in technical sales to include leadership experience
  • Self-motivated, team player, results-oriented, and excellent communication skills required
  • Fluent in Spanish and English
  • Computer knowledge: including working knowledge of Word & Excel
  • Approximately 75% business travel
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Proven leadership skills

Desired Qualifications:

  • Irrigation and/or landscape and/or agriculture market experience (including design and installation)
  • International experience
  • CAD software program experience
  • Distribution experience

Estimated Salary: $80,000 - $110,000 per year based on location and experience.
