Generic Specialist Practitioner - Substance Misuse Apply for the Generic Specialist Practitioner - Substance Misuse role at NHS Scotland . Responsibilities Manage a specialist caseload, using evidence based practice and client centred principles to assess, plan and implement care, provide expert advice and support, operating within a defined specialism across NHS Lanarkshire. Contribute to the development and implementation of a programme of clinical audit and research activity. Contribute to the supervision, education and development of members of the multidisciplinary team. Provide effective leadership within scope of role. Qualifications Registered Nurse with valid NMC PIN. Educated to Degree Level. Post graduate qualification at a minimum of Level 10 (Hons) or working towards. Expertise within speciality / area of practice that demonstrates the required breadth of knowledge to lead safety, effectively and efficiently. Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within the speciality / area of practice. Specialist knowledge and experience of relevant conditions, pathology, policies and procedures associated with the speciality/area of practice ensuring that the level of expertise can be utilised to deliver leadership within speciality / area of practice. Leadership skills to enable the day to day management of service delivery. Further education/evidence of Continuous Professional Development in area of speciality including study days/courses/post graduate qualification. The post holder will possess excellent team-working/leadership skills and have the ability to motivate others and work using own initiative. Excellent listening, communication and interpersonal skills. Effective time management skills. Working knowledge of basic information technology. Full, valid UK/EU/EEA drivers licence. Desired Experience Post registration experience. Holds a relevant degree. Postgraduate expertise in speciality. Evidence of post registration continuous professional development. Further education/evidence of continuous professional development in area of speciality including study days, courses, postgraduate qualification. Basic IT skills. Contract Permanent, Full time, 37 hours per week. Location and Working Pattern This role will be based in Substance Misuse within University Hospital Monklands. The working pattern for this role: Monday to Friday, 8 hour day shifts. Benefits Minimum of 27 days annual leave increasing with length of service. Minimum of 8 days of public holidays.
