Generic Specialist Practitioner - Substance Misuse Join to apply for the Generic Specialist Practitioner - Substance Misuse role at NHS Ayrshire & Arran As part of a multidisciplinary/multiagency team, the post holder will manage a specialist caseload, using evidence‑based practice and client‑centred principles to assess, plan and implement care, provide expert advice and support, operating within a defined specialism across NHS Lanarkshire. Other responsibilities include: Develop and implement a programme of clinical audit and research activity. Supervise, educate and develop members of the multidisciplinary team. Provide effective leadership within the scope of the role. Requirements: Registered Nurse with valid NMC PIN. Educated to Degree Level. Postgraduate qualification at a minimum of Level 10 (Hons) or working towards. Expertise within the speciality/ area of practice that demonstrates the required breadth of knowledge. Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards. Specialist knowledge and experience of relevant conditions, pathology, policies and procedures. Leadership skills to enable the day‑to‑day management of service delivery. Further education/evidence of continuous professional development in the area of speciality. Excellent team‑working leadership skills, motivation, initiative. Excellent listening, communication and interpersonal skills. Effective time management skills. Working knowledge of basic information technology. Full valid UK/EU/EEA driver’s licence. It would be great if you also have: Post‑registration experience. Relevant degree. Postgraduate expertise in speciality. Evidence of post‑registration continuous professional development. Basic IT skills. Contract: Permanent, full time, 37 hours per week. Working pattern: Monday to Friday, 8‑hour day shifts. This role will be based in Substance Misuse within University Hospital Monklands.
