Basic Qualifications:

Education:
Bachelor Degree

Experience: 3 to 5 years of Sales, Marketing or engineering experience.

Knowledge:
Machine and construction product experience.

Behaviors:
Ability to work independently, communicate effectively, and influence others in the workgroup, dealer personnel, and customers.

Language:
Intermediat
e English

Ability to work on a larger scale, more complex assignments, and provide direction to lower-level reps on project assignments.

Experience with Dealers

Job Duties:


As an Industry Representative, you will consult with dealers to market Caterpillar products and services and assist in the development of dealer sales capability.

You will be a sales liaison among dealers, customers, and other Caterpillar personnel. This role is for an experienced, individual contributor with a good understanding of construction products, and technology.

You will be accountable for the identification, analysis, and resolution of needs and problems in the construction, forestry, quarry and infrastructure industry.

Challenges include developing and meeting expectations in delivering results, identifying and recommending alternative solutions, making timely decisions, and developing greater communication skills.

Direct work with other Caterpillar units, customers, and possibly suppliers requires demonstrating skill in negotiation, building consensus, and achieving compromise.


  • Performs complex analysis work and identifies and resolves problems that are more strategic in nature.
  • Counsel's dealers in developing increased human performance capability.
  • Assists dealers with the forecast, sales/ strategy planning, and sales techniques.
  • Individual will be responsible for achieving sales and inventory targets
  • Supports rollout of new products (e.g., products, parts, customer service agreements, and other service products).
  • Analyzes and communicates marketplace and competitive activity to Caterpillar personnel and dealers.
  • Assists dealers with business planning within one industry.
  • Creates and promotes programs that increase sales while maximizing price realization.
  • Continues to develop the required proficiency level in the specified foundation competencies and skills
