Insurance Verification Coordinator I

**BCforward is currently seeking a highly motivated Insurance Verification Coordinator I - Remote EST**

**Job Title**: Insurance Verification Coordinator I
**Work Location**: Remote (12-9 PM EST)
**Assignment Duration**: 3 months (with possibility to extend or convert)
**Hourly Pay Rate**: $17
**Target Start Date**: July 7, 2025

**Position Purpose**

To obtain and verify complete insurance information for patients, including processing prior authorizations, identifying copay assistance programs, and coordinating benefits to ensure proper billing and reimbursement for therapies provided.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Verify insurance eligibility and benefits for prescribed therapies and document details in internal systems.
- Conduct and follow up on prior authorization requests, collaborating with physician offices and insurers.
- Collect and record relevant clinical data, including diagnosis codes and lab values.
- Determine and document patient financial responsibility based on insurance coverage.
- Maintain accurate coordination of benefits information on all referrals.
- Secure and manage Medicare Assignment of Benefits documentation.
- Submit claims to insurance payors and manage billing processes.
- Document all patient, provider, and insurer communications related to reimbursement and collections.
- Manage inbound calls from patients, providers, and insurers to resolve inquiries or issues.
- Work claim rejections and resolve eligibility, coverage, and billing issues.

**Education & Experience**

**Required**:

- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1+ year of experience in medical billing, insurance verification, or related healthcare administrative work.

**Preferred**:

- Bachelor's degree in a healthcare-related field (may substitute for experience).
- Experience with managed care plans and prior authorization procedures.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

- Handle an average of 25+ referrals per day.
- Maintain 95% or higher quality assurance scores.
- Strong attendance and punctuality are critical.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively during assigned schedule (12-9 PM EST).
