**BCforward is currently seeking a highly motivated Authorization Specialist** I** Job for an opportunity in Remote Florida**

**Position: Authorization Specialist I**

**Duration: 9+ Months**
**Pay Rate: $19/hour on W2**

**Position Purpose**:
The Prior Authorization Support Specialist assists in processing prior authorization requests, ensuring they are addressed promptly and accurately within contractual timelines. This role supports the utilization management team by ensuring the correct documentation is obtained for healthcare services related to member eligibility and access.

**Education/Experience**:

- High School Diploma or GED required
- Entry-level position, typically requiring mínimal prior experience
- Basic understanding of medical terminology and insurance preferred

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Support and perform data entry to maintain and update authorization requests in the utilization management system.
- Assist the utilization management team in tracking and documenting authorizations and referrals, adhering to established policies and guidelines.
- Contribute to the authorization review process by gathering necessary medical information (e.g., history, diagnosis, prognosis) and ensuring it's submitted to clinical reviewers for authorization determinations.
- Stay current on healthcare industry trends, prior authorization processes, policies, and procedures.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned, while ensuring adherence to all relevant policies and standards.

**Skills & Qualifications**:

- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Clear and effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office or equivalent software programs.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
