**Preferred Qualifications and Experiences**
Teacher credential/certification.- University degree in Early Childhood education (preferred).
- Training in Spanish Literacy as a first language.
- A minimum of 3 years of relevant teaching experience (PK to K1).
- Strong background in collaborating with Teachers and Teaching Assistants.
- Experience in writing sequenced curriculum for diverse learners.
- Experience working in a multicultural school environment.
- Experience using a range of tools and data to document student growth and to plan for
- instruction.- Experience in creating student-centered learning environments.
- Fluent in Spanish written and spoken.
- High level of English proficiency required.

**Main Duties and Responsibilities**
A passion for the teaching of Spanish and Early Childhood education.- Ability to design developmentally appropriate Spanish lessons that advance the Early Years
- School curriculum design and Units of Inquiry.- Plan and deliver Spanish lessons attending to the Early Years Spanish language domain
- standards.- Plan and deliver Spanish lessons aligned with the Early Years Units of Inquiry.
- Provide whole group instruction along with small group and individual support, as needed.
- Monitor, document and evaluate student growth in relation to learning objectives.
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues in creating authentic learning experiences for
- students.- Maintain an orderly and safe classroom environment.
- Plan, organize, and participate in special events such as Fiestas Patrias, celebrations of
- learning, end of year celebrations, or as requested by the Director.- Responsible for supervision, safety and well-being of students, both in the classroom and on
- the playground.- Assist classroom Teacher and Teaching Assistant during supervision of whole group and
- small group activities.- Communicate and coordinate all functions of the Spanish program with the Teachers,
- Assistant Teachers and the Director.- Timely and clear communication with parents.
