**Senior Director - Business Operations and Strategy (BoS) for the R&A HR Practice**:
- Location: Remote with preference for the East Coast _
**Job Description**:
In this role, the BoS will help improve the strategic prioritization and operational effectiveness of the HR Research and Advisory practice. The practice helps CHROs and their leadership teams with disruptive insights, differentiated data, tactical support, and expertise to drive their organizational and functional performance. The BoS will oversee continuous improvements in operational execution, planning resource investments to support client demand and deep customer usage, and financial analysis to target growth opportunities and margin improvement.
This includes, for example:
- Work as a member of the Practice leadership team to identify top strategic priorities and how to best execute and drive continuous improvement projects.
- Help the leadership team identify research focus areas for each of our target HR Roles and drive higher consumption of our research.
- Assist the leadership team further scale interactions with our clients and create maximum impact with every interaction.
- Support recruiting, talent development and performance management to improve retention and onboarding of new team members.
- Manage and develop budget recommendations to meet margin targets and optimize spending.
**Specific Responsibilities**:
- Report directly the Head of the Practice (EMT Member) and become a member of the HR Practice Management Committee (“PMC”).
- Identify strategic and process-related opportunities and issues; conceive of new data analyses and visuals to better understand the business.
- Serve as primary Practice point of contact for firm
- and pan-R&A initiatives, including serve as a liaison with RBA and IT leadership to develop innovative ways of leveraging data to help evolve the business.
- Analyze customer, financial and operational reports and data to identify trends and improvement areas and validate findings for the practice.
- Lead the financial planning processes for the Practice, manage budget-related adjustments through the business and support year-end calibration with people metrics.
- Partner with Finance, HR and recruiting to ensure efficient use of run rate, track T&E and adjust budget forecasts as needed.
- Partner with EMT member to develop and execute against Practice-wide and EMT communications plan.
- Set communications agendas, conceive communication storylines and themes, and build analysis, decks and plan for practice-wide Town Hall and Management meetings.
**Requirements**:
- Bachelor’s degree. Master’s degree preferred with strong quantitative skills.
- +8 years of progressive business experience, preferably in a Strategy, Research, Financial Analytics, or Operations role
- Experience developing strategic priorities and developing execution and metrics regimes to drive the priorities
- Working with leaders to identify what is most important - strategic priorities
- Designing the best ways to execute on the strategic priorities
- Developing data and analysis to track execution and drive continuous improvement
- Quantitative and statistical analysis skills - extracting key insights from large data sets; segmenting customers or behaviors into distinct groups which can be targeted for improvement.
- Written, visual, and verbal communications - being able to summarize complex data sets into elegantly simple summaries which focus attention on the most important conclusions.
- Project management, including the ability to manage project components and ensure completion including under tight deadlines both for personal responsibilities and their team.
- Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships up, down, and across the organization, via influence without formal management authority.
- Ability to manage, motivate and develop the practice Operations team reporting directly to the BOS.
