OVERVIEW
UNESCO is seeking a qualified individual to serve as a Coordinator for its educational programs, focusing on teacher policy development and project management. This role is essential in supporting the Global Education Agenda 2030, particularly within the framework of Sustainable Development Goal 4 (SDG 4).
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The selected candidate will:
- Assist in the formulation and execution of the Regional Teacher Strategy, ensuring alignment with global and regional educational frameworks.
- Conduct thorough analyses of educational policies concerning teachers, including their training and professional development, through comprehensive document reviews and data collection.
- Engage collaboratively with educational institutions, teacher associations, and policymakers to foster partnerships.
- Organize and lead workshops, webinars, and focus group discussions to promote knowledge sharing.
- Analyze trends in teacher training and retention, facilitating collaboration across teams to ensure comprehensive reporting and policy recommendations.
- Provide technical and administrative support for the publication process, adhering to UNESCO guidelines, and disseminate findings to a global audience.
- Prepare reports, communication materials, and correspondence in both Spanish and English.
- Undertake additional tasks as required by the supervisor, working closely with colleagues across UNESCO's regional office.
QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A Master's degree in Education, Sociology, Public Policy, or a related field.
- Over 7 years of relevant experience in research and project management within the education sector.
- Demonstrated expertise in teacher policies and frameworks, particularly in the Latin American and Caribbean context.
- Strong communication skills in both Spanish and English, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Proven experience in synthesizing technical materials and managing data analysis.
CONTRACT CONDITIONS
The initial contract will be for a probationary period of 3 months, with the possibility of extension based on performance and funding availability. The position requires full-time, in-person engagement.
