Job Purpose: As an Application Specialist in the Mining Technology industry, you will leverage your knowledge of mining technology applications to increase safety and improve mining operations, processes, and change management. You will support new and ongoing MineStar Command for Hauling operations, manage the autonomous trucks fleet, and provide recommendations to influence future product development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive customer recognition of the value of MineStar Command for Hauling Technology, product feature design, improved processes, and change management.
- Support customers on the Capacitation/Training strategy and organization.
- Provide ongoing basic training of customer personnel in areas of expertise.
- Provide technical expertise related to Caterpillar MineStar Technology products.
- Provide operational support to the Autonomous Trucks operation.
- Support customers by providing basic product application expertise.
- Consult with site on basic features and processes to support mining technology.
- Benchmark site performance using several metrics to ensure continuous improvement.
- Recommend MineStar Best Practices.
- Support customers through the change management process.
NPI Contribution:
- Increases product-positioning knowledge for Caterpillar.
- Provides feedback to product feature/benefits.
- Participates in Field Follows as needed.
Industry Knowledge:
- Increases application expertise and transfers knowledge to others within Caterpillar.
- Identifies and documents job/application profiles based on field observation working with customers.
- Serves as team members to establish best practices and knowledge share.
Industry Presence:
- Improves the industry's perception of Caterpillar.
- Serves as an application specialist to customers and dealers.
Requirements:
- University Degree: Mining Engineering (desired) or similar.
- Advanced Microsoft Office knowledge (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, etc).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge in data analytics and experience in database reporting (ex. SQL, SAP BO, PowerBI).
- Working background in Mine Operation Dispatcher, Mining Planning, or Fleet Management.
- Driver License.
- Knowledge of mining technology products and product applications, including Fleet Management systems.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience within Mining Industry or Mining Technology (Systems and Practices).
- Advanced English.
