Key Responsibilities

The role involves expanding Stryker's Robotic business by advocating for MAKO among Orthopaedic Surgeons and enhancing customer service while growing existing accounts through technical expertise. The MAKO Sales Specialist will oversee the clinical selling process for MAKO.

  • Uphold ethical standards as a Stryker representative, treating customers and colleagues with respect and portraying the company positively.
  • Communicate essential product benefits and their clinical applications effectively.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service with integrity, ensuring commitments are met within agreed timelines.
  • Collaborate with mentors to develop a foundational business plan, engaging in daily, weekly, and monthly planning.
  • Build rapport with clients, recognizing the significance of relationships in sales. Utilize open-ended questions to identify customer needs and leverage troubleshooting opportunities to enhance business growth.
  • Understand the various stakeholders involved in the decision-making process and ask relevant questions to identify them.
  • Work under close supervision, regularly updating supervisors on work status. Addressing any challenges should not significantly impact revenue or budget.
  • Achieve sales targets aligned with annual objectives and key performance indicators.
  • Plan, prioritize, and execute necessary activities to support customers effectively.
  • Segment the sales territory to focus on acquiring new clients and expanding existing accounts, in partnership with the implant sales team.
  • Maintain relationships with current customers to ensure satisfaction and collaborate with the Sales Team and other departments.
  • Develop short- and medium-term strategies with clients to strengthen Stryker's market position.
  • Engage in effective communication and negotiation with clients to foster profitable and sustainable relationships.
  • Conduct market analysis to enhance personal positioning and continuously assess the assigned area.
  • Address customer challenges and formulate solutions with support from Sales Managers and the Sales Team.
  • Participate in internal meetings to discuss organizational and business development issues, enhancing relevant knowledge and skills.
  • Manage IT-based customer databases and CRM tools.
  • Take responsibility for clinical selling, identifying and nurturing key clinical advocates through the sales process (MAKO Pathway).

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of sales experience, preferably in Orthopaedics.
  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
  • Preferred background in Market knowledge and Medical or Life Sciences.
  • Experience in selling capital goods or consumables that require explanation, or extensive experience in clinical settings.
  • Strong communication skills with proficiency in both spoken and written English.
  • Outgoing and persuasive demeanor, capable of engaging with individuals holding diverse beliefs or values.
  • Confidence to engage with clients on equal terms to discuss medical and economic matters.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
  • High ethical standards and integrity, aligning with Stryker's vision of being the most admired company in healthcare.
