**Job Description
- Context**
The strategy of Anglo American is to secure, develop and operate a portfolio of high quality and long-life resource assets to deliver leading shareholder returns. This can be achieved through innovative practices and technologies, in the hands of our world-class people, working towards a common purpose of re-imagining mining to improve people’s lives. The Group Learning function will build the organisation’s ability to anticipate future skill requirements as a basis for development of people strategies and provide methods and mechanisms for development of those skills over time and at the point of need.
**Purpose**
Define and agree the learning strategy for region/business to drive optimal achievement of desired business performance outcomes and build a culture of learning. Accountable for working with the business to understand strategic capabilities needed, and to uncover and prioritise learning requirements. Provide a single point of contact for region/business by managing learning initiatives through to completion.
**Key Responsibilities include**:
- Uncover key capabilities required from strategic workforce planning for the business/region
- Understand desired business performance outcomes in order to translate the capabilities that are necessary to deliver these with business leaders.
- Determine emerging learning requirements, including strategic and tactical capability requirements, emerging regulatory requirements and other key learning needs.
- Create business case for investments in learning and solutions.
- Prioritise capability and learning requirements, consulting with business leaders to uncover alternative solutions where learning requirements are lower priority.
- Define, prioritise and track utilization of functional learning budgets.
- Oversee business/region specific 1-3 year learning plans to ensure well timed and integrated implementation
- Capture and report on achievement of learning and behaviour outcomes to demonstrate ROI for learning.
