**The Work You’ll Do**

As a Development Manager (Research and Development Center), you will be responsible for helping the organization leverage on data and academic research, working and overseeing a team of data scientists and engineers to provide valuable direction and insight, for developing and evolving AI algorithms, metrics and process. The main purpose of this role is to ensure that the company has the best talent possible within the area, providing direction and guidance while ensuring the efficiency of the team. The person in this position is responsible to achieve this purpose through a proper recruitment, a good motivation of their supervised, always monitoring and driving their professional growth. The supervisor must also ensure that people are comfortable in their position, being constantly professionally challenged.

More specifically, you will:

- Develop data and computer science / AI / research projects by defining objectives on timely matter
- Balance technical nuances across data, math/stats, machine learning, software and connect them to business context/value.
- Lead by example, motivating respect and trust of the technical team (e.g. are there any blind spots, are we on the right track, challenging assumptions) as well as providing feedback on decisions
- Add structure (e.g. workflow, an agile process with feedback loop and code reviews, code repository, documentation)
- Identify discrepancies/disconnections (e.g., between business and data science or between data science and dev ops) and build consensus.
- Facilitate a smooth work environment, manage workload, set the pace and maintain quality.
- Take ownership of key workflow areas such as data acquisition, data quality, prioritizing which aspects are most important
- Work with other departments within the organization to ensure that their data science and research needs are met
- Communicate with stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle to provide updates on progress and ensure alignment with the objectives stablished.
- Coordinate with IT teams to ensure that the infrastructure or deployment needs support the data science or AI projects available
- Report data results on science projects to stakeholders, including executives and department managers

**What We Need From You**
- Fluent English (written and verbal)
- Minimum of 5 years of work experience in similar role or studies/experience in research
- Business and company knowledge, as well as the products and used technologies
- Continued education in their given development domain
- Interview and selection experience
- Manage and communicate business goals and imperatives
- Can effectively cope with change and manage stressful situations
- Proven planning, priority setting, time management, and decision making skills
- Enthusiasm for business, entrepreneurial spirit, and a passion for driving results
