- We are looking for a Contract Manager to join our team:
- As part of the AES ANDES E&C Project Management Team, the Contracts Manager will oversee the contract strategy in renewable projects through development, and handover to Construction. The Contracts Manager will define Equipment, Construction and O&M scopes of work for projects nearing construction and lead the structuring and implementation of RFPs and contract strategies, including preparing the RFP packages and drafting and negotiating contracts in accordance with AES standards and directives. This position will report to the Director of Pre-NTP.
- Primary Job Functions
- Responsible for timely execution of RFPs and contract negotiations and ensuring that 3rd party OEMs and contractors are obligated to comply with excellent standards in safety, the environment, quality, costs and schedule.
- Scope of Works
- Responsible for the definition and documentation RFPs and scope of work packages for 3rd party OEMs and contractors.
- Responsible for the draft of the contracts and their technical specifications.
- Collaborate with senior leadership in project's contract strategy.
- Lead in contract negotiations.
- Lead coordination with BD, SCM, E&C, Legal, EHSS and O&M teams for timely execution of the contracts and adequate handover.
- Lead the OEM and Contractor selection process.
- Lead Project schedule and budget creation. Review of LCOE models.
- Define project Incoterms and logistics Scope, Factory and Site testing
- Define the project DOR of the various OEMs and contractors.
- Responsible and accountable for the compliant and timely execution of contracts, ensuring that every contract that is signed contributes to the project’s goals and objectives, including compliance with project-approved budget and schedule.
- Responsible for the definition of milestone schedules and payment schedules of all contracts.
- Definition of contractual guarantees.
- Support the coordination of contract/project turnover exercises to Construction Project teams for assigned projects.
- Standardization of contracts and negotiation techniques across all projects in accordance with AES standards.
- Responsible of the creation of the contract risk matrix.
- Qualifications Required
- Education:

- Undergraduate Degree in engineering, project management, construction management, legal or equivalent.
- Master’s degree is highly valued.
- Professional Experience:

- 15+ years of experience in construction project management, contract management, claim management or related roles.
- Demonstrated success in high impact and utility-scale Renewable Energy construction contract negotiations.
- Strong negotiations skills with extensive contract negotiation experience.
- Outstanding interpersonal skills, including an ability to maintain calm and effective exchanges by all parties during stressful situations.
- Demonstrated success working to develop consensus from diverse opinions in a highly fluid and sometimes ambiguous multi-cultural environment.
- Excellent organizational skills demonstrated by clear and effective project plans and executive level reporting that ensure timely action and decision making in time-pressured scenarios.
- Fluency in English and Spanish, Portuguese a plus.
