Generic Specialist Practitioner - Urology Join us at NHS Scotland to apply for the Generic Specialist Practitioner - Urology role. About the Role As part of a multidisciplinary team at NHS Lanarkshire, the post holder will manage a specialist caseload, use evidence‑based practice and client‑centred principles to assess, plan and implement care, provide expert advice and support, and contribute to the development and implementation of a programme of clinical audit and research activity. Responsibilities Manage a specialist Urology caseload Use evidence‑based practice and client‑centred principles to assess, plan and implement care Provide expert advice and support to patients and the multidisciplinary team Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical audit and research programmes Supervise, educate and develop members of the multidisciplinary team Provide effective leadership within the scope of the role Requirements Registered Nurse or AHP with valid NMC / HCPC registration Degree level education Post‑graduate qualification at a minimum of Level 10 (Hons) or working towards it Expertise within the specialty/area of practice demonstrating breadth of knowledge to lead safely and efficiently Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within the specialty/area of practice Specialist knowledge and experience of relevant conditions, pathology, policies and procedures associated with the specialty/area of practice, including non‑medical prescribing when required by the specialism and legal framework Leadership skills to enable day‑to‑day management of service delivery Evidence of continuous professional development in the area of specialty, including study days, courses and post‑graduate qualifications Excellent team‑working, leadership, listening, communication and interpersonal skills Valid UK/EU/EEA driving licence if a driving licence is required for the position Contract Details Permanent, full‑time, 37 hours per week. Location and Working Pattern The role will be based in the Urology department at University Hospital Monklands.
