Job Description

Purpose

This position has been created to lead the establishment of an autonomous Mineral Processing business in Latin America.

Responsibilities

Technical Management


• Lead the implementation of a mineral processing pilot plant to beneficiate iron ore tailings


• Meet with clients to identify and understand mineral processing opportunities


• Engage with technical teams in South Africa to design mineral processing solutions for clients


• Support proposals preparation related to mineral processing opportunities


• Identify engineering, consulting and construction companies to develop mineral processing projects


• Lead the development of mineral processing projects


• Lead the safe, efficient and profitable operation and maintenance of mineral processing plants


• Ensure the achievement of production targets of mineral processing plants


• Implement operational excellence principles, tools and processes in the mineral processing operations


• Lead divisional innovation initiatives related to mineral processing


• Foster digitisation on site through innovative thinking


• Actively participate in mineral processing technical forums

Contract Management


• Interprets, implement and manage contracts.


• Liaise with client representatives regarding overall plant performance and quality standards


• Manage contracts regarding volumes, quality and other specifications relevant to the final product


• Advises senior manager of any scope changes


• Agree on month end quantities and ensure invoices are submitted

Customer relations management


• Regular contact with clients and ensure a 100% client satisfaction rate as well as positive feedback


• Assist area managers in dealing with unresolved issues


• Ensure SLA's are adhered to and regular meetings take place

Growth


• Establish and maintain business networks.


• Explore opportunities for new business.


• Prepare and submit tender documents and proposals

Managing the team


• Participate in selection and recruiting of the mineral processing team


• Ensure technical and administrative competences of the mineral processing team


• Select and appoint competent and passionate people


• Assign work


• Monitor performance

Job Requirements

Qualifications

A bachelor's degree in engineering (e.g. Mechanical or Mining) related technical field, or equivalent experience. Experience Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in mineral processing, project management, business development and commercial in Mining/Operations environment.
