About the role

Glencore Copper are currently seeking a highly capable and motivated professional to join our LATAM OE & Tech team based in either Lima or Santiago.


The position will provide support in the Operational Performance business function in the roll-out of governance, analysis, projects, initiatives, reporting and strategic planning activities.

The role will also undertake the gap productive analysis activities required to assess, track and realise the business strategic plan in the Copper commodity.

The role is essential to sustain Full Potential program in Glencore copper assets

In this role you will be responsible for:

  • Development and execution operational excellence practices and methodologies.
  • Supporting implementation of continuous improvement project, providing coaching and ensure embedment of operational excellence tools.
  • Interface with asset leadersip and operational teams in works in progress, with regular engagement with the internal stakeholders in copper and other commodities.
  • Engagement with assets for works initiatives including support in development of assessment models, review and governance.
  • Management of the consultants and advisors engaged as part of the role.
  • Preparation of reporting analysis for achieving full potential.
  • Participate in the development of global platforms for management of the strategy.
  • Delivery of activities as defined in the OE & Technology Strategic Plan, such as tools developments, systems and procedures.
  • Support regional technology leads.

About you:

  • Graduate qualifications in industrial / mining / metallurgical engineering or a related discipline. Further postgraduate qualifications would be well regarded.
  • 7 years' experience in operations, maintenance, or functional roles in mining, with focus in business improvement, strategy development and execution.
  • Black belt Six sigma, LEAN or similar certification (desirable).
  • Background or experience in continuous improvement or change programs.
  • Accountability, collaboration, leadership skills, customer focus, strategic mindset, planning a prioritising ability, communication, and resiliency.
  • Advanced English written and speaking (mandatory), French is a surplus.
