Publicada ayer por - **Cooperación Alemana al Desarrollo - GIZ** Jornada Completa Asesor Región Metropolitana de Santiago Providencia - Overview of the Projects - JET Coal Regions (50%) - Just Energy Transition in Coal Regions - Inter-regional Platform (JET-CR Platform) is a joint German-EU Action contributing to strengthening capacities, mutual learning and sharing experiences on the just en-ergy transition in the context of coal regions globally, including drawing on learnings from the EU. - The JET-CR Platform is embedded, as its global component, in the Project “Innovation Regions for a Just Energy Transition” (IKI JET) by the IKI of the BMWK. The overall IKI JET project in general aims at supporting and accelerating just energy transitions (JET) away from coal to renewable energy and other sustainable economic activities in the Global South, contributing to a reduction of GHG emissions. Fo-cussing on required economic transformations in coal regions, IKI JET works with government, industry, employers, unions, communities, civil society, and academia to spur localized pathways to low-carbon and resilient energy systems and sustainable and just local economies and decent jobs, in line with the Paris Agreement and the ILO Just Transitions guidelines. - The IKI JET project, including the JET-CR Platform is implemented by a consortium of six partners, with the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit - GIZ as leading partner and Climate Ac-tion Network - CAN, International Institute for Sustainable Development - IISD, International Labour Or-ganisation - ILO, International Trade Union Confederation - ITUC/ Just Transition Centre, and Wuppertal Institute für Klima, Umwelt, Energie gGmbH as implementing partner. The JET-CR Platform supports interregional peer-to-peer exchange, learning, policy dialogues amongst and with coal regions in coal-dependent developing countries and economies in transition from Latin America, Africa, and Asia, small scale in country technical assistance and capacity building measures as information sharing via a Knowledge Hub. The eight countries to participate in the Inter-regional Platform include Colombia, Chile, South Africa (focus on Mpumalanga), India, Indonesia, Viet Nam, Thailand, and Mongolia. - Global-H2-Upscaling (50%) - ‘Upscaling and stabilization of foreign H2 production cores: Lessons to be learnt for a secure future sup-ply of PtX products to the Federal Republic of Germany’ (Global-H2-Upscaling) is a research project, which was submitted within the framework of the call for funding "Hydrogen Technology Offensive" of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action, BMWK). - The project is implemented by the Institute of Future Energy Systems and Material Flows (IZES gGmbH) in cooperation with GIZ. The approach of IZES gGmbH is interdisciplinary and combines practice-related topics with scientific questions and approaches. In the case of Global-H2-Upscaling, the aim is to inves-tigate which measures are necessary for up-scaling and stabilisation of foreign renewable energy-based production capacities for H2 and its derivatives (Power-to-X / PtX), so that they - ? make a relevant contribution to German (and European) H2 care - ? and at the same time consider the energy, climate and development policy goals of the exporting countries. - Thus, it focuses on the question, how the expansion of global production capacities for hydrogen and its derivatives can succeed in the long term. The project envisages examining the mentioned aspects in a combination of desktop analysis (mainly by IZES in Germany) and stakeholder involvement on site. To support IZES’s work in Germany, GIZ will support the investigation and identification of measures and prerequisites that are necessary for hydrogen and PtX production in two countries (namely Chile and South Africa), that have expressed interest and started first activities to develop their PtX markets and to engage in export. - Interviews with local stakeholders will be conducted and developments in Chile and South Africa will be analysed in the context of global market development. Further emphasis will be put on local energy in-frastructure, climate policy objectives and economic impulses in the sense of value creation etc. - Your general responsibilities - ?
