Overview The Engineer will use critical thinking and standard operating procedures to support product engineering efforts that utilize ITCM (“X-over-ITCM” projects) and existing systems that use ITCM and/or CAS. The Engineer’s responsibilities include installing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and upgrading ITCM and/or CAS environments. The individual will work with other groups to provide the necessary support to ensure continued success on all company endeavors involving ITCM and/or CAS. **Responsibilities**: - Lead ITCM 4.0 modernization effort, transitioning architecture from VM-centric to container-centric - Support all "X-over-ITCM" product line development/test environments and provide engineering support/knowledge to other Wabtec teams that use them - Support all other existing ITCM and CAS development/test environments that are used for conventional PTC projects - Review logs and system status to determine the cause of issues. Work with other engineers to resolve the issue. - Act as backup support for production ITCM and CAS environments **Qualifications**: - Greater than 5 years of work experience on an engineering or production support engineering team - Bachelor’s degree or higher in a technical field such as Engineering or Computer Science - Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills - Strong understanding of IP networks - Strong understanding and usage of Linux operating system, particularly Red Hat Enterprise Linux - Working knowledge of Windows desktop and server operating systems - Server system administration skills - Ability to troubleshoot problems using Wireshark, tcpdump, and other packet / log inspection tools - Experience with configuration management, defect tracking, and problem resolution - Experience reading and writing Bash, Ruby, Python, C# - Basic knowledge of TLS/SSL and X.509 - Prior experience with message-oriented middleware - Experience with installation, maintenance, and query of relational database (e.g. Microsoft SQL Server) - Knowledge of railroad system operations or communications - Prior experience with ITCM and PTC - Prior experience with Docker **Required Skills**: - Effective oral and written communication skills; ability to articulate clearly and concisely, tailored to audience. - Self-driven, results-oriented, with a clear focus on customer satisfaction. - Ability to pivot between big-picture and technical deep-dive mindsets as situations require - Eager to develop working knowledge of adjacent systems that interface with ITCM and/or CAS - Ability to adapt to changing product-line requirements and provide updates to environments to support them - Experience with remote connectivity tools such as RDP, SSH, etc. Wabtec Corporation is committed to taking on the world’s toughest challenges.
