**Purpose**:
Requirement to appoint a full time principal process engineer, with experience and knowledge in Leaching process design to be in charge of:

- Provide technical expertise in leading process engineering strategies, standards and frameworks that ensure the engineering process and design is optimised and enables safe, efficient construction, commissioning and operation.
- Project metallurgical test work and studies coordination and follow up, including data/information capturing to update project design criterion.
- Project metallurgical work review and coordination with consultants and contractors to ensure compliance with BHP Standards, including establishment of the design basis to process equipment selection.
- Manage the activities required to deliver project in a cost effective and timely manner, with due consideration to best available technologies and process innovation.

**About the Role**:
Main Functions:

- Work closely with the team in study phases IPS, SPS, DPS and Execution to ensure project Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are in line with the Base Metals business targets.
- Planning of metallurgical test work. Overview and follow laboratory test work.
- Overview and follow up pilot plant activities, including contractor and equipment selection, program scoping, supervision and reporting.
- Overview bid process for the leaching area metallurgical work.
- Responsible for flowsheet development, mass balances, process design criteria for leaching process.
- Provides support and coordination for the development of process control philosophy for projects.
- Manage multiple activities related to flowsheet selection, providing specific expertise in process area.
- Overview and follow up of technical options to be provided by study groups.
- Review available technologies for the process routes recommended, enabling clear selection of final process flowsheet.
- Overview trade-off studies for process and equipment selection.
- Provide input into the development of a geometallurgical model.
- Provide guide lines to Engineering/Consultant/Contractor supporting projects.
- Review key deliverables issued by the engineering/consultants/contractor during all project phases.

**About You**:

- Metallurgical or Chemical Engineer entitled.
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in mining projects.
- Knowledge in Leaching Process and facilities, test works, experience in cost estimate, execution plans and scheduling of mining projects.
- Competent in the use of relevant software such as MS Office.
