**About the Role**:
The main functions and accountabilities for this role are:
Ensures conformance with BHP Our purpose, strategy and priorities, the BHP Group Level Documents, Code of Conduct and relevant statutory obligations. Ensures local government and Chilean government legislation is well understood, and abided by and the team is always updated of any changes.
An overriding commitment to Health, Safety, Environmental responsibility, BHP Social Values, Sustainable Development, with relentless focus on lowering risk exposure.
Managing the Escondida Concentrator/Tailings workstream portfolio projects through all phases of the projects from study to execution and handover to Operations.
Provides leadership, functional expertise, mentoring, coaching and guidance to the Team whilst fostering a positive, respectful, diverse and inclusive Team culture.
Manages multiple stakeholder relationships, and provide support and facilitates the interface with Studies, Delivery, Supply, Projects Services, Legal, and other Functions.
Leads and influences the selection and implementation of commercial models and pricing methods in support of various project delivery models, in consideration of the respective associated risks and opportunities.
Successfully maintains the interface with Procurement and Purchasing sub-functions in establishing and executing Projects Commercial strategies.
Understanding local market conditions to meet individual project portfolio requirements; Ensuring that market engagement is planned and executed to meet its Project Key Value Drivers.
Ensures the provision of appropriately skilled contracts and procurement resources to achieve the portfolio integrated scope, cost & schedule requirements.
Managing Total Cost of Owner ship awareness in project contracts and procurement activities. Looking for the best solution for the business.
Dedication to continuous growth and improvement of the whole PC team, focused on execution of the Business Plan and Focus Areas each year.
**About You**:
Engineering degree.
7-10 years experience in Capital Projects, preferably in Commercial areas.
Experience leading teams.
Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence Project Leaders.
Strong desire to pursue and achieve excellence and consistent high performance.
Experience in Strategy and planning during study phase.
Spanish and English written and verbal skills.
Some SAP & GCMS experience is desirable.
Claims prevention and management, and warranty processes.
