Mechanical Engineer, Bulk Material Handling

Ausenco Global material handling group has several experienced and intermediate engineers as part of our team. We are proud to work with all major mining and bulk terminal clients with projects spanning all over the globe. Our projects cover the full design cycle, from developing early concepts, to early project studies to detailed design and supervising construction and commissioning, as well as inspection work during service.

We are seeking energetic and enthusiastic individual for the role of **Mechanical Engineer, intermediate **-** **Bulk** **Material Handling with experience in railways**
- Be responsible and manage preliminary and detailed design of materials handling equipment including conveyors, transfers and chutes, handling a variety of bulk materials including mainly copper and iron ore, but also coal, potash, and grain.
- Perform calculations for design of material handling system
- Execute and deliver along Head of BMH, projects in varying size and complexity in local, national, and international locations.
- Prepare technical specifications, documents and reports as needed for the projects
- Participate in detailed field inspections of existing materials handling equipment to identify deficiencies or operational concerns, including motion checks and documentation of findings in a reports
- Write proposal studies elaboration.
- Manage client relationships and growth in Material Handling area of expertise
- Manage internal and external client relationships both technical and non-technical meetings
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized University.
- Knowledge of 2D design/drafting software (AutoCAD or similar) and 3D design / drafting software (Solidworks or similar)
- 3 to 7 years’ experience working in mechanical engineering, preference for experience within consulting engineering company environment.
- Experience on materials handling projects is considered an asset.
- Experience designing railways, heavy haul railways and Rail infrastructure
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in English and Spanish, both written and verbal. Portuguese is considered an asset.
- The ability to meet the challenge of tight deadlines and providing exceptional service to our clients is a must.
- Strong problem solving and organization skills.
- Understanding of financial reports and project budgets and schedules.
- PMP certificate is a plus
- People/team management experience
- Autonomous/self driven and strong team collaboration skills are essential
- Intermediate level or better capability in all Microsoft Office programs.
- Availability to travel within Latin America.
