Strategic & Portfolio Pricing Lead

ROLE SUMMARY- Advises Pfizer businesses on external pricing dynamics, payer value drivers and competitive actions/reactions to inform better commercial decision-making.- Leads development of strategic pricing recommendations and contracting strategy across Pfizer’s portfolio, advising Pfizer businesses on pricing strategies that support commercial objectives and operating plans.- Working with HEOR, Access and Commercial team members, develops optimal list and net pricing strategies for all customers in market, ensuring the recommendations are defendable to stakeholders (internal and external), coherent across the various customers, and profitable for the business.- Supports business in understanding and managing external price execution- Supports H&V team in external engagement with payer stakeholders
RESPONSABILITIES - Core components- Recommends optimal pricing strategies, considering effects on profitability, international price referencing (IRP) including price evolution in reference countries and local pricing regulation- Undertakes and/or commissions patient price sensitivity research to optimize the co-pay or out-of-pocket pricing dynamics- Ensures compliance with pricing governance (SOPs, etc.) as mandated across the local organization, developing local SOPs where applicable and educating Pfizer businesses as necessary on the SOPs. Ensures that the global pricing system is kept accurate and up-to-date as required by global SOPs, that all price changes in market are approved and implemented in accordance with global and local SOPs (as applicable) and are aligned with the ex-factory country price list and Master Data System.- Ensures PCR (Price Change Requests) submissions are of high quality, completed as required by the global SOPs and submitted with sufficient lead time to obtain necessary approvals, without undue stress on the approval team members.- Understands payer requirements and priorities and reflecting these in Pfizer Value propositions, and represents “Voice of the Payer” to internal stakeholders
Key Deliverables:
- Submission of price requests/ changes to local authorities, as applicable, and in compliance with local legislation
- Development of robust, coherent list and net prices for the Pfizer ethical pharmaceutical portfolio, that are defendable to stakeholders (internal and external), coherent across the various customers, and profitable for the business
- Leading the submission of local PCRs and implementation of local Pricing Approval processes
- Acting as primary country point of contact (or delegates as applicable) for market pricing input and feedback to global, regional and other market requests.
- Leading Pricing Research when needed
- Maintenance of accurate pricing information in global pricing approval system (Jade), ensuring alignment among the prices in Jade with prices on the country price list and Master Data system
- Maintenance of price lists, as appropriate to the market
- Oversees/develops (as applicable) Tender Pricing governance for the local market and ensures affected teams are trained on SOPs and implement accordingly.
Capabilities & Qualifications
+ 5 years of experience in healthcare environment, preferably pharmaceutical industry.
- Pharmaceutical business leadership, including experience in strategy development and interaction with external stakeholders.
