About the Role
- Reporting to the Lead Procurement Value Chain Global Mining, the role drives performance and excellence through the Procurement team, delivering world class commercial outcomes for BHP’s operations in Chile.

**Main Accountabilities**:

- An overriding commitment to health, safety, environmental responsibility and sustainable development.
- Develop effective relationships with internal business leaders to understand business requirements, to forecast demand, and verify established contracts are effective.
- Identify opportunities to execute initiatives to reduce external spend.
- Develops collaborative relationships with suppliers to ensure optimum delivery quality and sustained performance in line with business objectives.
- Identifies and implements improvement initiatives in the Mining category, managing our portfolio and creating synergies with other subfunctions.
- Work collaboratively across Commercial (Region, Global and across sub-functions) and operational stakeholders to develop and execute category strategies, opportunities to reduce external spend through demand, price and productivity levers.
- Collects requirements and analyses key data inputs from multiple sources (internal and external) to build robust category and sourcing strategies.
- Leading sourcing and negotiation strategies using market intelligence and best practice tools such as clean sheeting, TCO analysis etc.
- Ensures integration of the category strategy across the function (Purchasing, warehouse, inventory, logistic, COMEX, Payments, A&I, Marketing) and Operations, to ensure lowest inbound supply chain cost.
- Creates, manages and monitors contracts
- Executes supplier performance reviews to track performance with contract and business requirements.

About You

**To be a top performer you will need**:

- A bachelor’s degree related to the role.
- 3+ years of relevant industry experience with a focus on category management experience
- Proven ability to influence and engage across functions and operational sites
- Advanced Spanish and English
- Availability to travel sporadically to Mining Sites
