Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Science Laboratory Assistant to join our team at Ivy Tech Community College. As a key member of our laboratory facilities team, you will be responsible for maintaining a safe and organized work environment, supporting science faculty in setting up and conducting labs, and performing various tasks to ensure the smooth operation of our facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • General Laboratory Maintenance: Clean and maintain laboratory equipment, glassware, and other materials to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Lab Setup and Support: Assist science faculty in preparing equipment, mixing chemicals, and setting up labs as needed.
  • Inventory Management: Conduct regular inventory checks and work with supervisors to maintain supply levels and order consumable materials.
  • OSHA Compliance: Ensure adherence to OSHA regulations and guidelines related to chemical storage, waste disposal, and laboratory safety procedures.
  • Clerical Support: Perform administrative tasks related to laboratory facilities, including timesheet management and reporting.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Experience: Previous experience working in a science laboratory setting.

What We Offer

We offer a competitive hourly rate of $15.00 and a flexible schedule based on class hours, up to 28 hours per week.
