Nursing Instructor

About the Role:

Ivy Tech Community College is seeking a qualified Nursing Adjunct Faculty member to join our team. As an adjunct faculty member, you will be responsible for teaching and facilitating student learning in assigned classes, providing effective instruction and assessment, and maintaining student attendance and grading records.

Key Responsibilities:

• Teach and facilitate student learning in assigned classes, using technology such as Canvas and PowerPoint as appropriate.
• Provide syllabus and follow syllabus content and requirements.
• Maintain student attendance and grading records according to College policy.
• Submit requested information within established timelines.
• Be available to students outside scheduled class time to answer questions or provide assistance.
• Deal with student concerns and consult with program coordinator to resolve issues.
• Meet all scheduled classes of contracted course(s).
• Use technology as appropriate.
• Notify program/department chair in event of emergency absence.

Requirements:

To be considered for this position, you must meet the following criteria:

• Minimum of three (3) years of experience as a Registered Nurse.
• Possesses a current, unencumbered Indiana Registered Nurse license.
• Majority of faculty shall hold master's degrees in nursing.
• Faculty with Bachelor's degrees in nursing must meet ALL of the following requirements:
  • Within one semester of initial appointment, must have a written academic plan of study for completion of a Master's degree in nursing.
  • Provides ongoing documentation (each semester) demonstrating matriculation towards completion of a Master's degree in nursing.
  • Continued employment of a person who does not hold a Master's degree in nursing shall be contingent upon documented progress towards their approved academic plan.
