Tax Supervisor

We are seeking an experienced Tax Supervisor to join our team at Vacasa. As a key member of our Indirect Tax Team, you will be responsible for supervising the team's efforts to ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise the Indirect Tax Team and ensure timely completion of tax-related tasks.
- Manage team members' workload and provide guidance on tax concepts and procedures.
- Monitor and assist with team tickets, emails, and notices related to tax compliance.
- Improve the efficiency of tax processes and controls through technology and process improvements.
- Research and apply tax concepts to tax filings and processes.
- Evaluate information for hospitality filings to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Review complex/intermediate work and guide tax accountants.
- Ensure team compliance with SOX controls, team procedures, and company policies.
- Help set team goals and metrics.
- Meet with team members weekly and mentor career growth.
- Support various business initiatives to assist with growth and indirect tax compliance.
- Educate and train team members on various indirect tax concepts.
- Other administrative tasks and projects as needed.
- Previous experience in tax compliance or a related field.
- Bilingual English/Spanish required.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance or related field.
- 7+ years of experience in relevant tax experience.
- Prior US tax experience or public accounting experience required.
- Strong understanding of indirect tax.
- Ability to succeed in ambiguity.
- Highly organized and thorough.
- Deadline driven.
- Strong people manager/team leader.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills.
- Proficiency with Excel and Google apps for business.
- Flexibility and responsiveness to change.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
