Position Overview
The Senior Administrative Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting the operational functions of UNHCR. This position involves a variety of administrative responsibilities aimed at ensuring efficient office management and effective communication with stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate meetings and assist in the management of office logistics.
- Support official missions and process various claims to maintain smooth administrative operations.
- Handle sensitive documentation and coordinate travel and visa arrangements.
- Maintain communication with key stakeholders to ensure alignment and collaboration.
Desired Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate should possess substantial experience in projects involving government entities, civil society, and various stakeholders. A strong background in storytelling, planning, and creating communication materials for diverse platforms is essential. Additionally, the candidate will assist in developing informative resources for refugees regarding their rights and available services, as well as support the organization of public events.
Qualifications
- Experience in similar roles within United Nations agencies or embassies is preferred.
- Functional skills should include attention to detail, excellent diplomatic and communication abilities, and adaptability to changing environments.
- Proficiency in drafting correspondence and background materials in both English and Spanish is desirable.
- Experience in administration, travel coordination, and event planning is advantageous.
Language Requirements
Fluency in English and Spanish is required, with an expected overall ability of at least B2 level.
Additional Qualifications
IT proficiency, including Computer Literacy and familiarity with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, is beneficial. Knowledge of UN administrative rules and regulations is also advantageous.
