**Responsibilities**:
Daily responsibilities will depend on the individual’s background and the internship period. Duties may include:

- Data collection on water and energy issues for Latin America and the Caribbean, specially related to SDG 6 and 7.
- Data processing and analysis on water and energy issues for Latin America and the Caribbean, specially related to SDG 6 and 7.
- Research and compilation of water and energy policy actions related to sustainable development in the region
- Provide assistance in preparing documents, presentations, graphs, and web pages updates.
- Perform other related duties as required.

Education

To qualify for an internship with the United Nations Internship Programme, the following conditions must be met:
(a) Be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); or,

(b) Be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s level or equivalent).
- For this internship, studies in the area of environment, natural sciences or economics are desirable.

Work Experience

Languages
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat.
Fluency in Spanish is required. Knowledge of English is required. Knowledge of another UN official language would be an asset.

NOTE: “Fluency” equals a rating of ''fluent'' in all four areas (speak, read, write, and understand) and ¨knowledge of¨ equals a rating of ''confident'' in two of the four areas.
