**Responsibilities**:
Daily responsibilities will depend on the individual’s background and the internship period. Duties may include:

- Contribute to update the content of databases and websites of the Social Development Division on non-contributive social protection programmes.
- Research of qualitative, quantitative, institutional and official data; drafting inputs related to social protection, cash transfer programmes and other related measures;
- Gather and summarize research information on specific topics, particularly in social protection;
- Contribute and support activities such as the organization of seminars and expert meetings;
- Work collaboratively with other members of the team

Education

To qualify for an internship with the United Nations Internship Programme, the following conditions must be met:
(a) Be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); or,

(b) Be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s level or equivalent).
- For this internship, studies in the area of sociology, economics, political science and other related social disciplines is desirable.
- For this internship, knowledge in data analytics, statistical information processing or related area is desirable.

Work Experience

Languages
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. Fluency in Spanish is required. Knowledge of English is required. Knowledge of another UN official language would be an asset.

NOTE: “Fluency” equals a rating of ''fluent'' in all four areas (speak, read, write, and understand) and ¨knowledge of¨ equals a rating of ''confident'' in two of the four areas.
