**Qualifications and Experience**
Degree and teaching certification that covers Technology and/or STEM for Grades 6-8- A minimum of 2 years of relevant teaching experience
- Experience teaching and assessing standards based learning and knowledge of ISTE
- Experience developing curriculum using the Understanding by Design framework
- Experience in a multicultural school environment
- Fluency in English

Ability to connect with Middle School aged children and have an understanding of their
- developmental needs- Ability to create an engaging and active learning environment in a student-centered

classroom

- Flexibility

**Main Duties and Responsibilities**
Use the school's guiding statements to determine appropriate learning objectives- Create a positive, inclusive learning environment where all students feel safe and cared
- for- Monitor and evaluate student progress and achievement in relation to learning objectives
- Teach a range of technology courses including, but not limited to, coding, VR, robotics,
- design technology- Collaborate with colleagues towards creating authentic learning experiences for students
- with opportunities to transfer learning into real life situations- described in SAMR- Serve as a middle school advisor
- Contribute to the school community outside of the classroom e.g., after-school activities,
- coaching, outdoor education etc.- Actively seek professional growth opportunities through Nido’s PD Academy
