Glencore Chile is seeking a
**International Tax Analyst** to support the growth and development of our Latam Portfolio to be based either in Santiago.

**The Opportunity**

The purpose of this role is to support the Regional Tax Manager for Latin America in the delivery of their responsibilities for Glencore’s tax affairs for multiple commodity classes across the Latin American region including Chile, Peru, Argentina, Colombia, Mexico and Brazil, providing tax planning, consulting and support in such a way as to meet the statutory requirements while being consistent with the Glencore business strategy.

**In this role you will be in charge of**:

- Governance:
o Contribute towards maintenance and enhancement relationships with tax authority personnel in the Region.
- Compliance:
o Assist the management with tax compliance across the region.

o Provide advice on day-to-day tax matters on international and domestic tax issues to the business

o Implement process improvements to help streamline tax compliance for the Latin American region
- Advisory:
o Raise awareness of international and domestic tax issues within the group in and effectively communicate tax issues to management

o Identify and implement international tax planning opportunities in respect of the Region

o Manage the implementation of changes in tax laws in the Region
- Health, Safety & Environment:
o Demonstrate behaviour in line with health, safety and environmental standards and with the Group’s principles

o Adhere to the health, safety and environmental expectations of your team ensuring your behaviour meets the required standards

o Participate in relevant safety audits, inspections and observations, and address any issues
- People / Team:
o Demonstrate behaviour in line with the Group’s values, standards, and a professional workplace

o Develop your performance in line with the Group’s policies and systems (e.g. performance management) in order to achieve business goals. As part of this: Within the direction set by your leader, develop a clear and aligned plan.
- Financial:
o Contribute to the development of the budget

o Monitor your costs against budget and either address, or advise your manager of, any variances of note

o Identify any opportunities for improved cost management and either address these, or raise them with your manager, as appropriate
- Work Processes:
o Identify any issues around these that interfere with your ability to complete work or meet the plan / strategy. For processes within your authority, make the required changes. For others, escalate these issues to seek action and / or look for alternative solutions.

**Your training, skills & expertise checklist**:

- Bachelor’s Degree in commercial acumen. Preferable in the mining industry.
- And strong working experience of international tax principles, transfer pricing, and tax know-how in the Latin American region.
- A proven track record of having worked in a similar role in the tax field in the private sector, with a Big 4 Acounting firm or a Law firm is required
- Utilising efficient work practices
- Working ability to undertake presentations to senior management
- Good accounting practices
- Understanding of the mining industry would be an advantage
- Significant relevant post qualification experience is required
- Qualifications: Either a Chartered Accountant or equivalent accounting or legal degree; Post graduate degree in international taxation and/or transfer pricing preferable
- Ability to:
o Communicate key tax issues appropriately

o Develop ideas into practical solutions, Ensure that appropriate tax risk management documentation is implemented.

o Demonstrate experience of how to maintain working relationships with tax authorities and other stakeholders in country.

o Analyse a whole host of information and extract the pertinent facts and make a sound tax analysis.

o Demonstrate well-developed analytical, planning, and problem-solving skills

o Demonstrate an awareness of how technology can be deployed to deliver efficiency, effectiveness, and control to meet the defined business requirements.
