This position will be temporarily vacant for a period of six months. This position is located in the Economic Statistics Unit, Statistics Division. The Statistical Assistant report to the Chief of the Economic Statistics Unit of the Statistics Division.

**Responsibilities**:
Under the overall supervision of the Chief of the Economic Statistics Unit, the Statistics Assistant will be responsible for the following duties:

- Compiles, processes and manipulates data sets derived from a variety of sources.
- Assembles and examines original statistical material to ensure accuracy, clarity and validity; makes appropriate adjustments.
- Support, accompaniment, follow-up and monitoring of activities throughout the process
- of the development and implementation phase of the computer platform "Management System of SGP Providers”, among the participating INE Peru, Bolivia, Chile and Colombia.
- Support and follow-up in the harmonization of documents obtained in the consultancies previous versions of SREE and SREA with the purpose of publishing them within the framework of the project.
- Management and support for the realization of the second promotional video of the focused Project in the GSP.
- Prepares charts, graphs and other outputs for reporting and presentation of various data.
- Responds to internal/external requests on questions related to specific programme(s).
- Assists in liaising with United Nations system organizations to obtain necessary statistical and other relevant information.
- Prepares data sets upon request, responds to queries/requests and maintains/updates web pages.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Education
High school diploma or equivalent is required.

Work Experience
At least seven years of experience in statistics, finance, accounting or related area is required.

Proven expertise using statistical software and programing tools (R, Phyton) is required.

Languages
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this position fluency in English and Spanish (both spoken and written) is required.

NOTE: ‘Fluency’’ equals a rating of ‘’fluent’’ in all four areas (speak, read, write, and understand) and ‘’intermediate knowledge’’ equals a rating of ‘’confident’’ or “fluent’ in two of the four areas.
