Responsibilities Act as a subject matter expert (SME) to guide customers in identifying and evaluating platform-agnostic Transportation Management System (TMS) solutions that align with their business needs and strategic goals. Offer expert-level insights and recommendations on TMS capabilities, industry best practices, and future scalability, ensuring the selected solution integrates seamlessly with their existing ERP and homegrown Systems Collaborate with key stakeholders to understand current logistics workflows, pain points, and desired outcomes. Translate these into functional requirements for the TMS solution. Assess and advise on integration strategies between the proposed TMS and customers ERP and custom applications, ensuring data consistency, operational efficiency, and minimal disruption. Assist in shortlisting and evaluating TMS vendors based on functional fit, integration capabilities, cost-effectiveness, and long‑term viability. Prepare comprehensive documentation including business requirements, evaluation criteria, integration considerations, and final recommendations for executive decision‑making. Facilitate workshops, presentations, and discussions with cross‑functional teams to ensure alignment and buy‑in throughout the selection and assessment process. Identify potential risks associated with TMS implementation and provide mitigation strategies to ensure a smooth transition. Collaborate with cross‑functional client teams to gather business requirements and translate them into TMS solution designs. Conduct fit‑gap analysis and guide configuration teams on solution alignment. Provide thought leadership and best practices in supply chain planning and digital transformation. Liaise with IT users/client managers/Solution Architects / problem statements and overall Implementation Landscape Provide support for Project estimations Provide Technical Guidance and support in the development / implementation project Support testing, validation, and go‑live activities including UAT and performance tuning. Collaborate with technical teams for data integration, ETL processes, and system enhancements. Qualification An advanced degree (B.S. or B.E Minimum, Masters preferred) Understanding in configuring and customizing BY TMS or any Transportation management system At least 5+ years of Prior experience with consulting, configuring and development of Transportation management systems Skill Set Domain Expertise Deep understanding of Transportation Management Systems (TMS) – preferably Blue Yonder, Oracle TMS, or other leading platforms. Strong knowledge of transportation and logistics operations , including inbound/outbound, multimodal, and international logistics. Familiarity with freight audit & pay , rate engines , carrier management , and load planning/optimization . ERP & WMS Integration Experience integrating TMS with Oracle ERP systems . Understanding of homegrown or custom WMS environments and their integration challenges. Knowledge of system integration workflows , including EDI , APIs , and data mapping . Functional & Technical Skills Ability to gather and analyze business requirements and translate them into functional specifications. Experience in functional configuration , testing , training , and post‑implementation support . Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and SaaS‑based TMS solutions . Understanding of microservices architecture , event‑driven systems , and data flow modeling . Proven experience in TMS platform evaluation and selection . Ability to lead workshops , design sessions , and stakeholder engagements . Experience in change management , process optimization , and solution design . Project & Communication Skills Strong project management and stakeholder communication skills. Ability to present complex solutions to both technical and non‑technical audiences. Experience in cross‑functional collaboration with IT, business, and vendor teams. Certifications & Tools (Preferred) Certifications in Blue Yonder TMS , Oracle TMS , or other relevant platforms. Familiarity with tools like JIRA , Confluence , Visio , and MS Project . Exposure to transportation analytics , KPIs , and reporting tools .
