The department has redesigned its Medical Assessment Unit (MAU) processes, enabling it to take forward a number of exciting new ‘front door’ developments, including the establishment of an Ambulatory Emergency Care (AEC) unit. The Acute Physicians are well supported by Physician of the Day and dedicated Physician of the Week models, alongside Specialist Nurses in MAU. Excellent support is also provided by nursing and medical colleagues in the Emergency Department. The successful applicants will participate in the acute rota, which is variable and flexible depending on the commitments of the team, and will also participate in the Physician of the Week/Day and weekend on‑call rotas. The job is offered as a full‑time post on a 10‑PA basis. Applications will be considered from those wishing to work less than full‑time. Proposals for additional SPA time from applicants are encouraged.
