We are currently expanding our infrastructure management team and are looking for proven technology managers with experience in people management, strong technical understanding, and the drive and vision to take Amazon.com Data Center Operations to the next level. The successful candidate will have experience managing people with varying skillsets, devising strategies, mentoring people at all levels, sponsoring projects, and proposing technical solutions. Key Responsibilities Prioritize and assign trouble tickets to data center technicians and operators Routinely review ticket queue for large events and address accordingly Coordinate change management resources Guide, train and educate data staff on best practices related to all service owner issues Manage and deliver mid‑size projects Recommend, document, and oversee policies and procedures to meet industry best practices and required SLAs Manage a diverse team of data technicians with varying skills Provide weekly reports to the data center manager Maintain the on‑call schedule coordinating absence and vacations Recruit and train data technicians to ensure appropriate staffing levels Host weekly staff meetings Write and deliver performance reviews for staff About The Team AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on the most challenging problems, with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain, and we’re looking for talented people who want to help. You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You’ll collaborate across AWS to deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field. 2+ years of experience managing people in a technical environment. 3+ years of networking experience and knowledge of cabling best practices. 3+ years of experience with hardware architectures and troubleshooting. 3+ years of experience with system management tools and client/server environments. Proficient in English communication, both spoken and written. Preferred Qualifications Data center experience. Technical writing experience. Project management experience.
