Qualifications

Essential Qualifications:

· Experience - 8+ years of experience in software development and/or operations 

· Coding/Scripting - Working knowledge in a development language (C#, Powershell, Python, Java, Javascript, Go, etc.) 

· Web Delivery - Understanding of web service delivery; from a user request to a service response, what are the components and how do they work (CDN/Proxy, Load Balancing, HTTPS, certificates, etc.) 

Preferred Qualifications:

· Infrastructure as Code – understanding of Infrastructure as Code principles and experience in applying for a globally distributed service. 

· Cloud Platforms – Experience working with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP, etc.)

· Orchestration platforms - Understanding of compute orchestration platforms (Kubernetes, Service Fabric, etc.) and how they work (deployment, high availability, etc.) 

· Troubleshooting and Debugging – Ability to apply knowledge, critical thinking, and experience to identify find root cause to issues. 

Interpersonal skills:

· Growth Mindset - desire to learn, a tendency to embrace challenges, persist in the face of setback, see failures as essential to mastery, learn from criticism and find lessons and inspiration in the success of others.

· Self-motivated  - strong drive for reaching across teams and organizations to make progress collaboratively. 

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to, the following specialized security screenings: 

·Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Responsibilities

As a Senior Site Reliability Engineer, we are looking for an engineer on ACS’s Platform Engineering team (for more on Platform Engineering: ) where we build, curate, and integrate paved path solutions that our internal ACS engineers build on top of.

For success in this role, an Engineer will need to be passionate about developing solutions that enable internal developers to build the most reliable, highest available, resilient, and secure services possible.

Key Responsibilities

· Infrastructure as Code – contribute to central libraries to deliver infrastructure components through code (compute, networking, data/storage, chaos tests, observability, etc.) 

· Integration – implement solutions from our Internal Development Platform into services.

· Automation – identify toil (manual work) and create solutions to eliminate or automate. 

· Observability – develop dashboards, reports, and alerts for performance and reliability of infrastructure components. 

· Cross-team – work with Microsoft 365/Office and Azure teams to understand and build best practices to implement within the team.
