As a Senior Simulation Engineer, you will be responsible for leading and conducting simulation studies
and software development projects within Ausenco's Logistics Simulation Team. With a minimum of 8
years of experience in the field, you will bring a deep understanding of modeling, simulation software, and
business processes to the team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with clients,
project managers, and junior team members to provide practical solutions that make business sense.

**Responsibilities**:

- Lead and conduct simulation studies and software development projects using advanced methods and

in-house software to model solutions.
- Analyze detailed historical operating and environmental data to identify trends, map system behaviors,

and extract key performance indicators necessary to calibrate simulation models
- Analyze detailed model output data, generate insightful graphs, and quantify results that directly inform

our clients' large capital decisions
- Generate high-quality graphics to ensure model realism, test new features, and engage both present and

future clients
- Collaborate with programmers to design new features and solve difficult modeling challenges
- Assist project managers in preparing proposals, estimating budgets and schedule requirements,

developing requests for information, reviewing our work for technical accuracy, presenting results, and
writing reports
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior simulation engineers
- Meet with clients throughout the project/study lifecycle to develop your professional communication,

interpersonal, and negotiation skills
- Take initiative to drive continuous improvement and innovation in our simulation modeling and software

development processes

**About you**

As a strong applicant, you:

- Possess at a minimum a Bachelor degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics with a strong quantitative focus.
- Love to solve problems and provide practical solutions to clients that make business sense.
- Are motivated to contribute as a member of a talented, high-performance project team.
- Manage time and prioritize tasks thoughtfully.
- Explain complex ideas clearly.
- Have deep experience with MS Excel analysis.
- Have some experience with business intelligence and data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
- Have some experience programming with scripting languages (e.g., Python, R, VBA, Matlab).
- Ideally have experience with software development in Java (preferred but not required).
- Have written and spoken fluency in English, and Portuguese.
