Precom Coordinator

Job Summary

:

The Pre-Operation Electrical HV Engineerwill be responsible for directing, coordinating and supervising the contractor's compliance with the commissioning and start-up activities associated with LV & SCADA within the deadlines determined by project control and with the quality that guarantees the perfect functioning of the client's facilities.

The position may include transfer to jobsite to carry out those specific activities as assigned.

Major Responsibilities:

Planning, scheduling, conducting, or coordinating detailed phases of startup, operations, or maintenance for a project, including reviews of designs for plant operability and safety and jobsite precommissioning and startup assignments as directed. Performing work that involves conventional practice but may include a variety of complex features such as conflicting requirements, unsuitability of conventional methods, or difficult coordination requirements. Assisting with the preparation of instructions and pre operations manuals. Coordinating activities with the national electrical authority. Planning, guiding, or preparing project administrative and technical documents as required for startup, maintenance, operation, or testing. Coordinating startup between project engineering, construction, specialty staff groups, clients, and vendors. Assuming a lead role over other engineers for specific tasks as assigned. May direct overall startup activities on specific assignments. Training assigned personnel and assisting them in their professional development.

Education and Experience Requirements:

A recognized degree in an engineering or scientific discipline from an accredited college or university, or a professional license in an engineering discipline, or sufficient number of specialized courses in relevant general engineering or an appropriate engineering discipline to meet job requirements. Experience of more than 7 years in similar areas. Practical work experience in startup, operation, or other relevant experience in design engineering, construction, field engineering, or plant operation in industrial or process facilities.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

Thorough knowledge of high voltage substation configuration schemes. Thorough knowledge of protection and control schemes used in high voltage substations. Knowledge about communication protocols and standards used by IEDs in substations and electrical rooms. Knowledge of standards and market practices in relation to the tests applied to primary and secondary equipment for high, medium and low voltage. Flexibility to conduct business travel within the business line. Oral, written and graphic communication and presentation skills.
