Senior AWS Cloud Engineer

Location: Santiago, Chile (Hybrid, 2 days per week in office)

Type: Permanent

Salary: CLP $4,600,000 - $5,600,000 Gross per Month

The Opportunity

We're partnering with an established US technology company operating in the IoT and connected-device space. Their platform provides secure connectivity for millions of deployed devices across Europe and the Americas, supporting critical functions such as remote monitoring, firmware updates, and payment-enabled device interactions.

As a Senior AWS Cloud Engineer, you'll take ownership of the AWS environment across multiple accounts, driving cloud governance, security, networking, identity management, and automation initiatives. You'll play a key role in an ongoing AWS account redesign programme focused on least-privilege access and identity federation, while working alongside a Platform Engineer responsible for Kubernetes and CI/CD.

This is an opportunity to influence cloud strategy, lead key infrastructure domains, and work closely with engineering teams across Chile and the United States.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own AWS IAM and identity management across a multi-account environment.
  • Manage identity federation with external identity providers using SAML and SCIM.
  • Drive least-privilege access initiatives and ongoing governance improvements.
  • Administer AWS Organizations, Service Control Policies (SCPs), CloudTrail, Access Analyzer, and Secrets Manager.
  • Design and maintain AWS networking, including VPCs, routing, Transit Gateway, and DNS.
  • Develop infrastructure through Terraform, CloudFormation, or CDK.
  • Create automation solutions using Python.
  • Collaborate with global engineering teams to improve security, scalability, and operational excellence.

Required Experience

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience operating production AWS environments.
  • Expert-level AWS IAM knowledge, including roles, policies, trust relationships, and least-privilege design.
  • Experience with Identity Center (AWS SSO), SAML, SCIM, and external identity providers.
  • Strong AWS governance and security experience.
  • Advanced networking knowledge covering VPCs, routing, Transit Gateway, and DNS.
  • Infrastructure-as-Code expertise using Terraform, CloudFormation, or CDK.
  • Python scripting and automation experience.
  • Strong spoken English skills (C1 level or above).

Nice to Have

  • Experience with EKS, ECS, or Kubernetes access models.
  • FinOps or cloud cost optimisation experience.
  • CloudWatch or Grafana experience.
  • Supply chain security knowledge.
  • Experience implementing governance for AI and agentic tooling.
