Project Overview

Mining and Metals:

Increasing production of critical minerals provides key components of clean energy technologies, from wind turbines to batteries. This shift to clean energy—and the need for commodities—is critical to underpinning the energy transition. At Bechtel, our teams extract these vital resources to support net zero in a way which is more sustainable than ever before.

Job Summary

The South America Project I&D Information and Digital (I&D) Operations Lead role focuses on broad engagement with business and global I&D personnel to support proposal development and study and project execution for all South American projects. The role has a practical focus, helping to implement standardised Bechtel project I&D governance. The role reports to the South America I&D Manager, and coordinates with the APAC /EAM Project I&D Operations Lead.

Major Responsibilities

• Coordinates I&D input into South America project proposals, staffing plans, estimates and execution plans with Business Development (BD), project management, and Project I&D personnel
• Works with local and corporate Bechtel I&D peers to support regional studies and projects with standard project I&D processes for:
  • Study / project implementation planning
  • Automation planning
  • I&D estimating
  • Project reviews
  • Information dashboards
  • Closeout processes
• Reviews and reports on the implementation of standard project I&D processes. Works with project I&D leads to address and close out identified actions.

Education And Experience Requirements

10+ years of industry experience gained through a recognised degree in a STEM-related field, and / or specialised courses in IT, Engineering, or related fields, and / or 15+ years work experience in a STEM-related field

Required Knowledge And Skills

• Ability to partner with project teams to review and understand end-to-end work processes and planning to support study and project execution
• Extensive experience managing people, including mentoring, team development, and performance reviews
• Demonstrated experience working with project proposals to develop written plans, staffing plans and I&D estimates
• Significant technical knowledge and experience with a range of technologies, including: desktop and server computing, cloud computing, wired and wireless networks, construction site technology (two-way radio / push to talk; access control, etc.)
• Knowledge of work processes, applications and data integration to a level which allows development of clear documentation and articulation of plans that support project execution
• Able to translate technical information into practical terms for discussion and presentation to broad audiences
• Demonstrates a strong safety focus and value the development and maintenance of customer partnerships that clearly define expectations and responsibilities.
